Simply Spend keeps everything you enter on your own iPhone. I don't collect it, I can't see it, and there are no servers involved — the app has no way to send your information anywhere.
What the app stores
Everything you type into Simply Spend — transaction names, amounts, dates, notes, categories, payment methods, and your app settings — is saved on your device, in the app's own storage. It stays there until you delete it or delete the app.
What I collect
Nothing. There are no accounts to create, no sign-ins, and no way to use the app over the internet. Simply Spend contains no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. It includes no third-party software development kits, so no other company receives anything about you or your spending either.
I have no servers and no database. Even if I wanted your financial information, the app is not built to send it to me.
One exception worth naming, because it comes from iOS rather than from the app: if you've turned on Share With App Developers in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements, Apple may share anonymous crash reports and general usage statistics with me. Those come from Apple under Apple's privacy policy, and they never include your transactions or anything you enter in the app.
Permissions
Simply Spend asks for no permissions. It does not use your camera, photos, microphone, location, contacts, or Face ID, and it does not send notifications.
Exporting your own data
The app can export your transactions as a CSV file, from Settings. When you do that, iOS asks where to send it — Files, Mail, AirDrop, or another app you choose. That file goes wherever you send it, and I never receive a copy. Once it leaves Simply Spend, it's covered by the privacy policy of whatever app or service you sent it to.
Backups
If you back up your iPhone to iCloud or to a computer, that backup may include Simply Spend's data, the same as any other app. Those backups are made and handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. I have no access to them.
Deleting your data
Settings has an "Erase All Data" option that removes all your financial data — transactions, categories, payment methods, and budget settings. Your app preferences, like the theme and haptics switches, are left as you set them. Deleting the app from your iPhone removes everything, preferences included. Because nothing is stored anywhere else, there's nothing for me to delete on your behalf and no request you need to send me.
Children
Simply Spend is not directed at children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect information from anyone — including children — because the app collects nothing at all.
Changes to this policy
If the app ever changes in a way that affects your privacy, I'll update this page and change the effective date at the top before that version reaches the App Store. It's worth checking back here after an update if you want to be sure.
